Mount Ararat Skiing and Trekking is Available only for professional Skiers
Mount Ararat (Agri Dagi) is located in the far eastern part of Turkey, It is the mythical resting place of Noah’s Ark, as mentioned in the Book of Genesis. Ararat was the first mountain poking above the floodwaters as they receded following the Great Flood. Ararat consists of two peaks, their summits about 7 miles (11 km) apart. Great Ararat, or Büyük Ağrı Dağı, which reaches an elevation of 16,945 feet (5,165 meters) above sea level, is the highest peak in Turkey. Little Ararat, or Küçük Ağrı Dağı, rises in a smooth, steep, nearly perfect cone to 12,782 feet (3,896 meters). Your luggage and all camping gear are packed on horses or mules for the trek; all you need to carry is anything you require for your personal need, and a decent capacity hydration unit is recommended as dehydration can contribute to general fatigue and the onset of altitude sickness.
We arrange all equipment for the climb including tents, sleeping bags, pickaxe, hand lamp, mountaineering clothing and shoes and you will have a professional and certified local guide who will prepare three meals a day for you.
