    Day by Day Itinerary

    ITINERARY:

    Day 1: Arrival – Welcome to the Lycian Way!

    Morning:

    • Transfer from Dalaman Airport to Fethiye Region:
      We’ll start your journey with a comfortable transfer from Dalaman Airport to your hotel in the beautiful Fethiye region. This area is known for its stunning landscapes and rich history, setting the perfect stage for our trekking adventure.
    • Check-In and Relaxation:
      Once we arrive at your hotel, you’ll have time to check in, freshen up, and relax. Feel free to explore the nearby streets or enjoy a refreshing drink while soaking in the local atmosphere. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can even take a short walk around the area to get a feel for the surroundings.
    • Dinner and Orientation:
      In the evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner where I’ll provide an overview of the upcoming days. You’ll learn about the highlights of the Lycian Way, safety tips, and any important details to ensure a smooth and enjoyable trip. Don’t forget to ask any questions you might have!

    Day 2: Ovacık – Faralya (15 km)

    Morning:

    • Start Point: Ovacık Village:
      After breakfast, we’ll head to Ovacık, a charming village that marks the beginning of today’s hike. As we set off, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of the Mediterranean coastline and lush greenery. The trail will take us through picturesque landscapes, passing by ancient ruins and traditional villages.
    • Highlights of the Day:
      • Ancient Ruins: Keep an eye out for remnants of the Lycian civilization, including stone pathways and old structures that tell stories of the past.
      • Scenic Views: Enjoy panoramic vistas of the rugged hills and turquoise waters as we make our way along the trail.
    • Distance: Approximately 15 km, with an estimated hiking time of 4–6 hours. The pace will be moderate, allowing plenty of time to soak in the beauty around you.
    • Accommodation:
      By late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Faralya, a quaint village nestled in the hills. Here, you’ll stay in a cozy guesthouse or small hotel, where you can unwind after a day of hiking. Dinner will be served at a Hotel’s restaurant, offering delicious Turkish cuisine.

    Day 3: Faralya – Kabak – Waterfall – Kabak Beach (16 km)

    Morning:

    • Start Point: Faralya:
      Today, we’ll continue our journey from Faralya, heading towards Kabak. The trail will lead us through scenic countryside, offering glimpses of traditional farming communities and olive groves.
    • Highlights of the Day:
      • Kabak Waterfall: Midway through the hike, we’ll stop at a stunning waterfall, where you can cool off and enjoy a picnic lunch surrounded by nature’s beauty.
      • Kabak Beach: After the waterfall, we’ll continue to Kabak Beach, one of the most picturesque spots along the Lycian Way. With golden sands and crystal-clear waters, it’s the perfect place to relax and swim.
    • Distance: Approximately 16 km, with an estimated hiking time of 5–7 hours. The trail is mostly flat, making it easy to navigate while still providing plenty of scenic views.
    • Accommodation:
      Here, you’ll stay in a cozy guesthouse or small hotel, where you can unwind after a day of hiking. Dinner will be served at a Hotel’s restaurant, offering delicious Turkish cuisine.

    Day 4: Kabak – Alınca – Gey Village (14 km)

    Morning:

    • Start Point: Kabak:
      Today, we’ll begin our hike from Kabak, continuing along the Lycian Way. The trail will take us through diverse landscapes, including rocky paths and lush valleys.
    • Highlights of the Day:
      • Alınca Village: Along the way, we’ll pass through Alınca, a peaceful settlement known for its friendly locals and traditional architecture.
      • Gey Village: Our destination for the night, Gey Village offers a serene environment with stunning views of the surrounding hills. Here, you’ll experience authentic Lycian hospitality.
    • Distance: Approximately 14 km, with an estimated hiking time of 4–6 hours. The terrain is varied but manageable, with some uphill sections that offer rewarding panoramic views.
    • Accommodation:
      We’ll spend the night in Gey Village, staying in a Bungalow. This is a great opportunity to immerse yourself in the local culture and enjoy a quiet evening under the stars.

    Day 5: Cultural Exploration – Xanthos and Patara

    Morning:

    • Start Point: Gey Village:
      After breakfast, we’ll depart from Gey Village for a cultural day trip to two of the most significant Lycian cities: Xanthos and Patara.
    • Highlights of the Day:
      • Xanthos: Visit the ancient city of Xanthos, renowned for its impressive ruins, including the Tomb of Artaxerxes and the Nereid Monument. Learn about the rich history of the Lycians and their contributions to the region.
      • Patara: Continue to Patara, once the wealthiest city of the Lycian League. Explore the archaeological site, which includes a well-preserved amphitheater and the remains of a Roman road. Afterward, relax on Patara Beach, one of Turkey’s most pristine stretches of sand.
    • Relaxation Time:
      Spend the afternoon enjoying the beach, swimming, or simply soaking up the sun. This is a perfect chance to recharge before our final day.
    • Accommodation:
      Return to Fethiye for the night, where you’ll stay in a comfortable hotel. Dinner will be at a local restaurant, giving you a chance to savor more delicious Turkish dishes.

    Day 6: Departure

    Morning:

    • Breakfast and Farewell:
      Start your final day with a hearty breakfast, reflecting on the incredible experiences of the past few days. Say goodbye to your fellow hikers and guides, knowing you’ve explored some of the most beautiful and historically significant areas of Turkey.
    • Transfer to Dalaman Airport:
      After breakfast, we’ll arrange a private transfer to Dalaman Airport, ensuring you have enough time to check in for your flight home. Safe travels, and thank you for joining us on this unforgettable Lycian Way trekking adventure!

    ESSENTIAL INFORMATION & ADDITIONAL NOTES

    Travel – Flight:  Recommended arrival and departure airport is : DALAMAN (There are winter flights available via Istanbul). Alternatively Transfers ANTALYA airports is also available to a minimum extra cost.

    Extra Arrival and Departure Dates: Please plan to arrive one day before the trek begins and depart one day after the trek ends.

    Luggage transfers & logistics : Luggage transfer on hiking (Walking) days is included and your baggages will transferred from departure point to the finish

    Meal Arrangements: Breakfast and dinner will be provided at accommodations. Lunch will be picnic or takeaway food with fruits during the trekking days.

    This itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions and group preferences.

    The itinerary is changeable and modifiable as per need and time frame of the party. Program may change according to weather and road conditions. Cost will be re-calculated  if the itinerary is changed or modified. Additional activities may be added as per party members request with appropriate additional cost. The cost may also be affected due to the requirement of number of guide and auxiliary guide.
