07:30 – 08:30 | 🚐 Hotel Pick-Up & Transfer to Kayaköy
Your licensed local guide meets you at your accommodation or an agreed meeting point in the Fethiye / Ölüdeniz area. A comfortable private vehicle transfers you the short distance (~8 km) to Kayaköy village, arriving at the trailhead within 20–30 minutes.
08:30 – 09:30 | 🏚 Explore Kayaköy Ghost Town (Karmylassos)
Begin the day on foot inside Kayaköy — the former Greek village of Karmylassos (also known as Levissi), abandoned after the 1923 Greco-Turkish population exchange. Your guide brings the history to life as you wander between hundreds of roofless stone houses, two preserved Byzantine churches, and the remnants of an Orthodox school and windmills. Allocated time: 30–45 minutes. Tip: There is a small entrance fee to the Kayaköy ruins site. Bring your camera; morning light on the stone ruins is spectacular.
09:30 – 12:00 | 🥾 Lycian Way Trek: Kayaköy → Ridge Viewpoint
From Kayaköy, follow the red-and-white Lycian Way waymarks south through fragrant Anatolian pine forest and Mediterranean maquis shrubland. The trail climbs steadily (approximately 300 m / 984 ft of ascent) over a scenic limestone ridge. The ascent is moderate and well-paced; most hikers of average fitness handle it comfortably. Water tip: No reliable natural water sources on this stretch — carry at least 1.5–2 litres from the start. Rest point: The ridge crest offers a natural flat rest spot with the first stunning views of the turquoise Aegean coastline and the Ölüdeniz lagoon basin below.
12:00 – 13:00 | 🌊 Descent to Ölüdeniz
The trail descends through pine-scented slopes toward Ölüdeniz (approximately 7 km total from Kayaköy). As you clear the treeline, the famous blue-and-white crescent of the Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon comes fully into view — one of the most photographed coastal scenes in Turkey. The descent requires sure footing on rocky path; trekking poles are recommended for those with knee sensitivities. Total hiking time: approximately 2.5 – 3.5 hours (excluding Kayaköy exploration).
13:00 – 14:30 | 🏖 Ölüdeniz Beach & Optional Activities
Arrive at Ölüdeniz and meet your waiting private transfer vehicle. Before heading back, enjoy free time at the beach (optional, subject to your schedule): cool off with a swim in the Blue Lagoon (small entrance fee applies to the lagoon beach area), grab lunch at one of the seafront restaurants or cafes lining Ölüdeniz beach, or simply relax and absorb the scenery. For the adventurous: Ölüdeniz is the world-famous launch point for tandem paragliding from Babadağ Mountain (1,969 m) — bookable locally, subject to weather and availability.
14:30 – 15:30 | 🚐 Private Transfer Back to Accommodation
Your private transfer vehicle returns you comfortably to your hotel or the agreed drop-off point in the Fethiye / Hisarönü / Ovacık / Ölüdeniz area. Estimated drive: 15–30 minutes depending on your accommodation location.
