DAY 1: Arrival & Transfer | Dalaman Airport → Fethiye
Guests are met at Dalaman Airport by the tour representative and transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Fethiye Harbour, where the gulet is moored and ready for check-in. After settling into private cabins, the guide hosts a welcome briefing covering the week’s route, daily logistics, hiking trail conditions, and safety information. The remainder of the day is free — Fethiye is a rewarding town to explore, with spectacular Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliffs above the harbour, a lively waterfront bazaar, and an excellent selection of seafood restaurants for a first evening on the Turquoise Coast
Day 2 — Fethiye Harbour to Kayaköy (Ghost Town) to Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon
Trail Name | Lycian Way: Fethiye – Kayaköy – Ölüdeniz (Stage 1) |
Duration | 5–6 hours walking |
Distance | ~13.8 km (Fethiye to Kayaköy ~8.8 km + Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz ~5 km) |
Difficulty | Moderate |
Altitude | 0 m → ~587 m gain total; ridge above Kayaköy (~800 m summit area); descent to sea level at Ölüdeniz |

Finish Point | Ölüdeniz Blue Lagoon / harbour |
Overnight | Onboard gulet, Ölüdeniz |
The hike begins from Fethiye town, climbing steeply through pine forest past ancient Lycian rock tombs carved into the cliff faces above the bay — a dramatic introduction to the trail. After a gradual ascent on an old Greek road, the route descends into the fertile plain of Kayaköy, the largest abandoned Greek Orthodox village in Turkey, abandoned in the 1923 population exchange, where hundreds of roofless stone houses and two restored churches create an otherworldly, deeply moving atmosphere. From Kayaköy, the Lycian Way climbs once more over a scenic ridge before descending steeply through Mediterranean pine forest and open meadows to the shore at Ölüdeniz, rewarding walkers with breathtaking views of the world-famous Blue Lagoon as they approach.
Day 3 — Çukurbağ (above Kaş) to Sleeping Giant Ridge to Kaş Harbour
Trail Name | Lycian Way: Çukurbağ – Sleeping Giant – Antiphellos / Kaş (Panorama Route) |
Duration | 4–5 hours walking |
Distance | ~11 km |

Start Point | Çukurbağ Village (service car transfer from Kaş harbour) |
Finish Point | Kaş Harbour (where the gulet is anchored) |
Overnight | Onboard gulet, Kaş Harbour |
Following a service car transfer from the gulet to the starting village of Çukurbağ, the hike crosses open rocky plains and ascends to the Sleeping Giant ridge — a distinctive rock formation visible from Kaş and the surrounding sea. From the panorama viewpoint atop the ridge, hikers are rewarded with sweeping 360-degree views over the turquoise bays, Kaş peninsula, and the Greek island of Meis (Kastellorizo) on the horizon. The descent follows the ancient Lycian Way, passing Lycian sarcophagi and the well-preserved Antiphellos rock tomb before arriving at Kaş harbour, where the gulet awaits.
Day 4 — Aperlai to Üçağız (Simena) + Kekova Boat Cruise + Simena Castle Walk
Trail Name | Lycian Way: Aperlai – Üçağız (Stage 14) + Simena Castle loop |

Best Season | All year |
Start Point | Aperlai Ancient City ruins (accessible by boat) |
Finish Point | Simena (Kaleköy) / back to gulet anchored in Kekova Sound |
Overnight | Onboard gulet, Kekova / Simena anchorage |
The gulet sails to the remote ruins of Aperlai — an ancient Lycian harbour city historically famed for its production of Tyrian purple dye, with partially submerged harbour walls that echo the sunken city nearby. From Aperlai the Lycian Way follows a spectacular coastal path past rock tombs, necropolises, and Mediterranean scrubland to reach the charming waterfront village of Üçağız, where the boat picks up the group for a cruise over the world-famous Kekova Sunken City — ancient Lycian structures visible beneath the crystal-clear water. The second walk of the day is a short but rewarding climb to Simena Castle (Kaleköy), a medieval fortress built on Lycian foundations, offering panoramic views over the Kekova Sound, scattered islands, and the half-submerged Lycian sarcophagi lining the shoreline below.
Day 5 — Gökkaya Bay to Andriake (Çayağzı Harbour)
Trail Name | Lycian Way: Gökkaya Bay – Çağıllı Beach – Andriake (Çayağzı) |
Duration | 5–6 hours |
Distance | ~14 km |
Difficulty | Moderate (gentle coastal terrain with occasional rocky sections) |
Altitude | Sea level throughout; max ~120 m on coastal headlands |
Best Season | All year |
Start Point | Gökkaya Bay (gulet drops hikers; boat continues independently) |
Finish Point | Andriake / Çayağzı Harbour, Demre |
Overnight | Onboard gulet, Andriake Harbour |
The gulet drops the group at Gökkaya Bay, just below Simena Castle, and hikers follow the Lycian Way along a stunning coastal path tracing the rugged shoreline past Lycian tombs and sea-view valleys. The route passes Çağıllı Beach — a secluded cove perfect for a brief swim stop — before continuing to Çayağzı Harbour at the mouth of the ancient port of Andriake. Andriake was the main sea gateway for the great Lycian city of Myra and is home to a massive Roman granary built under Emperor Hadrian, now superbly restored as the Lycian Civilizations Museum — an optional highlight of the evening stopover.
Day 6 — Darboğaz Bay to Karaçaören Bay (Coastal Hike)
Trail Name | Lycian Way Coastal Section: Darboğaz – Karaçaören |
Duration | 3–4 hours |
Distance | ~8 km |
Difficulty | Moderate |
Altitude | Sea level to ~200 m on coastal ridge sections |
Best Season | All year |
Start Point | Darboğaz Bay (gulet drops hikers after sailing from Butterfly Valley / Ölüdeniz) |
Finish Point | Karaçaören Bay (meet gulet; cruise continues to Fethiye) |
Overnight | Onboard gulet, Fethiye Harbour |
After a scenic morning cruise from Andriake to Butterfly Valley and Ölüdeniz, the gulet continues to Darboğaz Bay where hikers disembark for the final coastal Lycian Way walk of the trip. The path winds along a wild and largely undeveloped stretch of coastline, offering solitary sea views and the atmosphere of a trail walked as the ancient Lycians once did — far from roads and villages. Arriving at Karaçaören Bay, the group re-boards the gulet for the final sail back to Fethiye Harbour, where the boat is the overnight home for a last evening in this vibrant harbour town.
DAY 7 — DEPARTURE
Summary: Final morning in Fethiye; checkout from gulet; transfer to Dalaman Airport.
The tour concludes on the morning of Day 7. After breakfast on board in Fethiye Harbour, guests check out from the gulet and are transferred by air-conditioned vehicle to Dalaman International Airport — approximately 45–60 minutes’ drive. Depending on flight times, there may be time for a final walk along Fethiye’s harbourfront, a last Turkish breakfast at a harbour cafe, or a visit to the Fethiye town market.
The gulet, the Lycian Way, the ghost town, the sunken city, and the Blue Lagoon — the memories from this week on Turkey’s Turquoise Coast travel home with you long after the tan fades.
