Airport Transfers and Luggage Support
DAY 1 Arrival in Antalya | Airport Transfer & Optional Old-Town Walk
Type: Arrival & Transfer — No Hiking | Optional: Kaleiçi old-town walk (flat, 1–2 hrs) |
Accommodation: Hotel, Antalya city centre |
|
Met at Antalya Airport and transferred directly to your hotel. If your flight arrives with daylight to spare, the Kaleiçi old town is a short walk from most central hotels — Roman harbour walls, Ottoman-era houses, and narrow lanes that have held the city together for centuries. A good first evening and a low-key way to begin adjusting to the heat.
Accommodation: Hotel, Antalya city centre
DAY 2 Çıralı / Olympos | Yanartaş (Chimaera) Loop
Distance: ~14 km | Duration: 5–6 hours (split across the day) |
Difficulty: Easy – Moderate | Altitude: 0–300 m |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Çıralı |
Finish Point: Çıralı / Olympos | Accommodation: Pension or hotel, Çıralı or Olympos |
A gentle introduction to the trail. Walk from Çıralı into Olympos National Park to explore the atmospheric ruins of ancient Olympos — tombs, temples, and a Roman theatre half-swallowed by pine forest — then loop back along the beach. After dark, a short climb to Yanartaş rewards you with the Chimaera flames: natural gas fires that have burned from the bare rock since antiquity, bright enough to navigate by, strange enough to have generated myths that lasted three thousand years.
Accommodation: Pension or hotel, Çıralı or Olympos
DAY 3 Çıralı to Adrasan | Over Musa Dağı
Distance: ~16 km | Duration: 6–7 hours |
Difficulty: Moderate – Hard | Altitude: 0 m to ~650 m (Musa Dağı) |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Çıralı |
Finish Point: Adrasan | Accommodation: Hotel, Adrasan |
The first properly demanding day. The trail climbs steadily out of the Olympos valley over the shoulder of Musa Dağı — Moses Mountain, ~650 m — through dense pine forest scattered with strawberry trees and broad sea views. The descent passes abandoned farmhouses before arriving at Adrasan, a quiet bay that rewards the effort with one of the cleaner swimming beaches on this stretch of coast.
Accommodation: Hotel, Adrasan
DAY 4 Adrasan to Cape Gelidonya Lighthouse | Transfer to Demre
Distance: ~18 km | Duration: ~7 hours |
Difficulty: Hard | Altitude: +700 m / -700 m | Kızıl Sırt ~450 m |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Adrasan |
Finish Point: Beydağları NP entrance (vehicle to Demre) | Accommodation: Hotel or guesthouse, Demre |
One of the wildest and most isolated stages on the entire Lycian Way. The trail heads south along an exposed, rocky coastline via Kızıl Sırt — with sweeping views to the Beş Adalar islands — to the lighthouse at the tip of Cape Gelidonya, where the Aegean and Mediterranean meet. A vehicle meets the group at the Beydağları National Park entrance for the transfer to Demre. Long, waterless, and genuinely magnificent.
Accommodation: Hotel or guesthouse, Demre
DAY 5 Cultural Sightseeing Day | Limyra · Arykanda · Myra · Demre
Type: Sightseeing & Transfer Day — No Trail Hiking | Sites: Limyra, Arykanda, Myra, Church of St Nicholas |
Difficulty: Easy — walking shoes sufficient | Accommodation: Hotel, Demre |
A day off your feet after yesterday’s hardest stage. Visit Limyra and Arykanda — two of Lycia’s most striking and least-crowded rock-tomb sites — before continuing to Myra, its cliff face honeycombed with Lycian tombs above a well-preserved Roman theatre. The Church of St Nicholas in Demre, built over the original basilica where the historical bishop served, closes a day of exceptional archaeological density.
Accommodation: Hotel, Demre
DAY 6 Çayağzı (Andriake) to Kale (Simena) via Kapaklı
Distance: ~15 km | Duration: ~7 hours |
Difficulty: Moderate | Altitude: +150 m / -100 m |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Çayağzı / Andriake (short transfer from Demre) |
Finish Point: Kale / Simena | Accommodation: Pension, Üçağız |
A short transfer to Andriake beach at Çayağzı, then the trail follows sheltered coves and rocky coastal inlets via Kapaklı to Simena, entering the village beside its crusader castle built directly over a necropolis of sarcophagi and Lycian rock tombs. Views across the Kekova lagoon begin here and don’t really stop. The pension tonight is on the waterfront at Üçağız.
Accommodation: Pension, Üçağız
DAY 7 Leisure Day | Üçağız / Kekova Boat Cruise
Type: Leisure Day — Boat Cruise & Swimming | Activity: Sunken City, Simena Castle, coastal bays |
Difficulty: Easy (short uphill to Simena Castle only) | Accommodation: Pension, Üçağız |
A gulet carries the group out over the Kekova Sunken City, where drowned staircases and house foundations are clearly visible just beneath the surface. Time for swimming at several coves, a visit to the crusader castle at Simena for the lagoon panorama, and as much or as little as the day suggests. An easy and generous mid-trek reward.
Accommodation: Pension, Üçağız
DAY 8 Kılıçlı Bay – Apollonia – Aperlai – Boğazcık – Üzüm İskelesi
Distance: ~13 km | Duration: 5–6 hours |
Difficulty: Moderate | Altitude: 0–300 m |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Kılıçlı Bay (boat transfer from Üçağız) |
Finish Point: Üzüm İskelesi | Accommodation: Pension at Üzüm İskelesi or hotel, Kaş |
A boat transfer from Üçağız to the trailhead at Kılıçlı Bay opens a stage that moves through two significant Lycian sites. Apollonia sits on a hilltop above the sea — walls, tombs, cisterns — before old mule paths descend to Aperlai, a former harbour town known for its purple dye trade, with ruins running directly into the water. The trail continues through Boğazcık to finish at the small jetty of Üzüm İskelesi.
Accommodation: Pension at Üzüm İskelesi or hotel, Kaş
DAY 9 Üzüm İskelesi – Limanağzı – Kaş
Distance: ~14 km | Duration: 6–7 hours |
Difficulty: Moderate | Altitude: +430 m / -430 m |
Best Season: April–June / September–November | Start Point: Üzüm İskelesi |
Finish Point: Kaş | Accommodation: Hotel, Kaş |
A coastal walk with regular opportunities to swim, following the shoreline past Ufakdere to the sheltered bay at Limanağzı — the natural lunch stop and the best swimming of the day. The final section climbs and descends rocky terrain into the harbour town of Kaş, arriving from above with the Greek island of Meis visible offshore. A satisfying close to the route’s last hiking day.
Accommodation: Hotel, Kaş
DAY 10 Free Day in Kaş
Type: Leisure Day — No Hiking | Activities: Diving, kayaking, old town, Hellenistic theatre, farewell dinner |
Difficulty: Easy — entirely self-paced | Accommodation: Hotel, Kaş |
A day entirely your own. Kaş rewards both activity and stillness: world-class diving, sea kayaking to the Greek island of Meis, paragliding over the bay, or simply wandering the old quarter with its Hellenistic theatre, Lycian sarcophagi in front gardens, and harbour front lined with restaurants. Farewell dinner this evening.
Accommodation: Hotel, Kaş
DAY 11 Departure | Transfer to Antalya or Dalaman Airport
Type: Departure Day — No Hiking | Antalya Airport: ~200 km, approx. 3 hours |
Dalaman Airport: ~260 km, approx. 3.5 hours | Note: Allow a minimum of 3 hours before scheduled flight |
Transfer from Kaş to your chosen airport. Antalya and Dalaman are both approximately three to three-and-a-half hours by road; your guide will confirm the recommended departure time the evening before. If the schedule allows, a final Turkish breakfast in Kaş before setting off is the correct way to end eleven days on one of the world’s great coastal trails.
