Carian Trail – Way 8 Day Trekking Bozburun Peninsula-Marmaris to Turgut

The Caria Way is a popular trekking route in the Bozburun Peninsula, located in the south-west of Turkey. The trek covers a distance of approximately 80 kilometers and offers hikers the opportunity to explore some of the most stunning landscapes in the region. Starting in Marmaris and ending in Turgut, the Caria Way trek is an adventure that will leave hikers with memories that last a lifetime.

The journey starts in Marmaris, a bustling coastal town that is known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. From here, the trail leads into the surrounding hills and forests, offering hikers a chance to escape the crowds and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The terrain can be challenging at times, with steep climbs and rocky paths, but the rewards are worth it. The views from the top are breathtaking, with sweeping vistas of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding countryside.

Day 1:  Meeting And Transfer To Marmaris

Day 2: Hiking : Bahceli – Taslica – Cumhuriyet

HIKE BAHÇELI – TAŞLICA – CUMHURIYET 9 KM

The stony path ascends towards the coast with fantastic views of nearby Rhodes. The path continues above the dramatic coastline before heading inland to the village of Taslıca. The route then descends to Cumhuriyet with breathtaking views of the coast. Your day ends as you walk straight into your guesthouse.

Day 3 : Hiking : Cumhuriyet – Bozburun

CUMHURIYET–BOZBURUN 12 kilometer hike

The day begins immediately after leaving the hotel.The coastal path passes by small coves and villages before reaching Bozburun’s nearby shipyard. Bozburun is world-famous for its traditional type of boat, called “gulets”. You can see how they make or maintain the boats here. The route then continues on another path with nice views of Bozburun and nearby islets before reaching the small coastal town of Bozburun.

Day 4:  Hiking : Bozburun – Selimiye

HIKE BOZBURUN – SELIMIYE 10 KM

The hike starts directly from the pension and heads towards a small cove called Germe. The path goes through a small hamlet and starts ascending to a saddle with nice views of Bozburun and the mountains. Reaching the saddle, the route continues on a dirt road and descends down to Selimiye with views of the lake-like bay and the mountains surrounding it. Selimiye is a small town on the coast and the perfect place to spend an afternoon.

Day 5 : Hiking. : Bayir – Selale ( Waterfall ) – Turgut

HIKE BAYIR – ŞELALE – TURGUT 12 KM

A 20 minute transfer takes you to Bayır. The route follows a stream-side dirt road before ascending on a combination of paths and forest roads. Reaching a small hamlet, the old path goes down to Şelale, which means waterfall. This is a nice spot with some small waterfalls. The hike first follows the forest road and then a minor asphalt road to the village of Turgut. Following a path up the hill, the route ascends to the ancient settlement of Hydas for some sweeping views. You finish the day by walking back to Turgut on a forest road.

Day 6: Onward Travel

Complete the hiking the most beautiful section of the Carian Trail ( Way ), transfer to the airport regarding to your onward destination.

Travel:  Recommended arrival and departure airport is : DALAMAN (There are winter flights available via Istanbul). Alternatively Transfers ANTALYA airports is also available to a minimum extra cost. 

Extra Arrival and Departure Dates:

• Please plan to arrive one day before the trek begins and depart one day after the trek ends.

Luggage transfers & logistics : Luggage transfer on hiking (Walking) days is included and your baggages will transferred from departure point to the finish

Meal Arrangements:

• Breakfast and dinner will be provided at accommodations.
• Lunch will be picnic or takeaway food with fruits during the trekking days.

This itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions and group preferences.

2 – The itinerary is changeable and modifiable as per need and time frame of the party. Program may change according to weather and road conditions. Cost will be re-calculated  if the itinerary is changed or modified. Additional activities may be added as per party members request with appropriate additional cost. The cost may also be affected due to the requirement of number of guide and auxiliary guide.
