One Day Hike : Lycian Way Hiking Demre-Andriake to Kale Simena Kekova

Day will start with a comfortable transfer to Demre Cayagzi (Andriake Harbour).

We will begin our walk in Cayagzi, near the town of Demre. This area has a rich history, with ancient ruins and sites dating back thousands of years. As we walk along the coastline, we will pass through the town of Demre and the ruins of the ancient city of Andriake. Andriake was an important port city in ancient times, and it played a significant role in the region’s trade and commerce.

Continuing along the coast, we will pass through small villages and enjoy the stunning views of the Mediterranean. The turquoise waters and rocky coastline make for a beautiful backdrop to our walk. As we approach the Kale Kekova gulf, we will see the castle ruins of Kalekoy, also known as Simena. This castle was built by the Knights of Rhodes in the 14th century, and it offers a glimpse into the region’s medieval history.

Once we arrive in Kalekoy, we can explore the castle ruins and learn more about its history. The castle was built on top of an ancient Lycian city, and there are still remnants of the city’s walls and buildings visible today.

After a full day of walking and exploring the historical sites along the route, we can relax and enjoy a delicious seafood dinner at one of the local restaurants before heading back to the hote
