Kalkan-Akbel-Aquaduct- Patara Hiking

This one-day hiking trip from Kalkan Akbel to Patara via Aqueduct covers approximately 14 kilometers and takes around 8 hours to complete. It offers a great opportunity to explore the natural beauty and ancient history of the area, while also getting some exercise and fresh air.

One Day Lycin Way Hike : Hiking Mileage: 14-16 Km

* Meet your guide  at the meeting point or the accommodation and transfer to KALKAN-Akbel, the starting point of the hike.

* Begin the hike along the Lycian Way, which starts with a gentle climb through pine forest with views over Kalkan Bay.

* Reach the ancient Roman Aqueduct, an impressive structure that spans a narrow gorge. Take a break here to enjoy the views and take some photos. Continue the hike, which descends through a valley with orchards and farms.

* Stop for a picnic lunch in a scenic spot.

* Resume the hike, which descends to the ancient city of Patara, passing through sand dunes and pine forest.

* Arrive in Patara, an important city in Lycian times that was later a center of Christianity. Explore the ruins of the city, including the amphitheater, agora, and necropolis.

* Transfer back to meeting poing or accommodation, where the hike ends.

Important Notes:

This is a moderate level hiking trip, please wear comfortable hiking shoes.

The total hiking distance is around 14 km, and it takes approximately 5-6 hours to complete the trip.

Make sure to wear sun protection as it can get quite hot during the day.

The trip includes transfers, a professional guide and lunch box.

Travel:  Recommended arrival and departure airport is : DALAMAN (There are winter flights available via Istanbul). Alternatively Transfers ANTALYA airports is also available to a minimum extra cost. 

Extra Arrival and Departure Dates:

• Please plan to arrive one day before the trek begins and depart one day after the trek ends.

Luggage transfers & logistics : Luggage transfer on hiking (Walking) days is included and your baggages will transferred from departure point to the finish

Meal Arrangements:

• Breakfast and dinner will be provided at accommodations.
• Lunch will be picnic or takeaway food with fruits during the trekking days.

This itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions and group preferences.

2 – The itinerary is changeable and modifiable as per need and time frame of the party. Program may change according to weather and road conditions. Cost will be re-calculated  if the itinerary is changed or modified. Additional activities may be added as per party members request with appropriate additional cost. The cost may also be affected due to the requirement of number of guide and auxiliary guide.
