Lycian Way 6 Day Trekking – Kaş-Kekova Gulf- Demre-Myra

Hiking the marvelous Lycian Way Coastline passes through the Historical sites and awesome bays

The Lycian Trail, which connects Fethiye and Antalya, is one of the most well-known hiking routes in Turkey. Amazing views of the Mediterranean Sea’s deep blue water, remote bays, undeveloped beaches, historic cities, rock tombs, and more may be seen while hiking.

highlights for this section of the trail are :  Kaş – Limanagzi bay- Uzumlu Bay-Bogazcik-Aperlai Historical site-Kekova Gulf- Kale key ( Castle )-Demre ( Myra ) St.Claus’s birth town.

Day 1: Meeting and Transfer

Arrive at Dalaman or Antalya Airport and enjoy your complimentary transfer to you hotel arranger Regarding to the Departure point ( Fethiye – Antalya -Kas- eg)

Meet out representative who will brief you on the walks. ( Self Guided Guest : Maps – Gps Data and Needed Documentation ). A short City Tour

Day 2: Hiking  KAS -LIMANAGZI BAY- UZUMLU PIER BAY

Total Walking Distance: 15 km

Walking Time: 8 hours except for breaks.

Route Difficulty: Difficult A nice and difficult route, where some points require attention

After a short transfer from the kaş city center to büyük çakıl beach. Our hike starts From Büyük Çakıl beach the road soon leaves the last houses behind and becomes a proper hiking trail, crossing a fairly flat plain until the descent down rocky steps and past a cliff-face tomb, to Limanağzı beach, where you might take a drink break ordecide to take early lunch.

From Limanağzı we will head inland, through some welcome shade before emerging on the far side of the headland with the waves pounding below. Cross a bare expanse of volcanic rock to windswept Çoban beach. Cross another headline and gently descend to peaceful empty Ufakdere bay, another ideal resting spot. After a break here we continue walk for another hour or so until a couple of tiny islands signal  arrival to Üzüm Iskelesi Bay.

Transfer Back to Hotel in Kaş to overnight.

Day 3: Hiking BOGAZCIK – APERLAI ANCIENT SITE-KAPAKLI – KEKOVA BAY (UCAGIZ)-KALE KOY

the day will start with a nice breakfast at the hotel before we take place int he transfer car and drive to the departure point. Today’s hike heads inland and uphill From Boğazcık to the ruins of Apollonia. This  less well known and coumented Lycian city other lycian cities such as Patara or Xanthos – and its remote location means it is untouched by modern tourism. The final climb off the main trail to Kale Tepesi (“Castle Peak”) is steep but worthwhile, not just for the panoramic views over the coastline, but for the substantial ruined city, including a Lycian amphitheatre and necropolis, and later Byzantine fort and church.

Day 4: Relax Day- Kayaking Or Boat Cruise To Smuggler’s Cave And The Sunken City.

Relaxing day before continue our walk from Kale köy to Demre ( Myra )

We might visit the smuggler’s cave ( pirate cave ) by boat or kayaks, This watery cave in the cliffs was once used by pirates to store their treasure.  and have tour around the sunken city of Simena,see some underwater ruins and swim.

Day 5: Hiking KALE KOY -UC AGIZ – DEMRE ( MYRA )

KALE KOY -UC AGIZ – DEMRE ( MYRA )

It’s just a few hours hike from Kale Koy ( Uçağız ) to Andriake harbour at Demre, following the coastal trail. Depending on your stamina you might hike upwards route to Myra, on the outskirts of Demre.

Day 6: Onward Travel

complete the hiking the most beautiful section of the lycian way fethiye, transfer to the bus station or to the airport regarding to your onward destination.

ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

Travel:  Recommended arrival and departure airport is : DALAMAN (There are winter flights available via Istanbul). Alternatively Transfers ANTALYA airports is also available to a minimum extra cost. 

Extra Arrival and Departure Dates:

• Please plan to arrive one day before the trek begins and depart one day after the trek ends.

Luggage transfers & logistics : Luggage transfer on hiking (Walking) days is included and your baggages will transferred from departure point to the finish

Meal Arrangements:

• Breakfast and dinner will be provided at accommodations.
• Lunch will be picnic or takeaway food with fruits during the trekking days.

This itinerary is subject to change based on weather conditions and group preferences.

2 – The itinerary is changeable and modifiable as per need and time frame of the party. Program may change according to weather and road conditions. Cost will be re-calculated  if the itinerary is changed or modified. Additional activities may be added as per party members request with appropriate additional cost. The cost may also be affected due to the requirement of number of guide and auxiliary guide.
